How Does an Internal Fire Door Work?

By providing a barrier against the spread of smoke and flames, interior fire doors can help slow the spread of flames and provide additional time to safely evacuate a building.

Internal fire-resistant doors are built from materials that can withstand high temperatures and protect people, belongings, and buildings from the effects of fires in addition to preventing loss of critical infrastructure and equipment.

What Are the Legal Requirements for a Fire Safety Door?

In addition to the array of benefits that they possess, fire rated safety doors are also a requirement by law in most commercial and public buildings.

Building codes and regulations will often specify the type of fire door that is required for each location based on the size, number of occupants, what the space is being used for, and more. By using certified fire doors that meets these regulations, building owners can ensure that they are compliant with local safety standards.

With a selection of sizes, finishing choices, timber and ironmongery, you are sure to find a fire rated safety door to suit your exact requirements in our extensive range.
