Our first ESG Impact Report marks an important milestone in our journey. It reflects the steps we’ve already taken and sets out our vision for a safer, greener, and fairer future.
Whilst we know there’s still a long way to go, we’ve already made some incredible progress that we’re excited to share with you.
Transitioned over 90% of our paints to water-based, reducing harmful chemical use.
Introduced energy monitoring systems, waste recycling, and sawdust reuse, cutting emissions and landfill impact.
Sourced timber responsibly with FSC® and PEFC™ certifications, ensuring sustainable forestry.
Reduced vehicle emissions through smarter logistics and delivery consolidation.
Grown our team from 28 to over 200 colleagues, investing in local talent and providing fair pay above the National Living Wage.
Introduced flexible working, healthcare benefits, and mental health support, with plans to certify mental health first aiders.
Partnered with Trees for Cities to enrich urban environments and supported local and national charities.
Shared fire safety knowledge through free webinars, CPD sessions, and educational resources for communities and customers.
Established a cross-functional ESG Steering Group and quarterly board reviews.
Strengthened policies on diversity, anti-slavery, whistleblowing, and ethical business conduct.
Achieved and maintained key certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BM TRADA Q Mark, and Certifire.
Enhanced cybersecurity and data protection, including AI-driven threat detection and GDPR compliance.
We know there’s more to do. That’s why we’ve set out a clear three-year ESG roadmap that sligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Within the next three years, we will:
Achieve ISO 14001, FSC®, and PEFC™ certifications across our group.
Set and deliver on Scope 1 & 2 carbon reduction targets, aiming for net zero before 2050.
Reduce waste streams by a further 10% and expand circular economy initiatives.
Become a Real Living Wage certified employer and publish a Gender Pay Gap review.
Provide sustainability training for all colleagues and launch a quarterly ESG newsletter for customers.
Expand community partnerships, including exploring new charity collaborations.
Continue to champion fire safety best practice through industry leadership and policy engagement.
Sustainability is not an add-on – it is embedded into everything we do. From reducing our environmental impact, to building a diverse and thriving workforce, to operating with integrity and transparency, our ESG journey reflects our promise to do the right thing for the long term.
