Sentry Doors celebrates 100 Years of manufacturing with staff past and present.
19th October 2023, Birmingham, UK: Earlier this month, we celebrated 100 Years of manufacturing at Knowles – part of Sentry Doors. To commemorate this important milestone, we hosted a special event for employees at our manufacturing facilities in Birmingham.
We welcomed some familiar faces to celebrate with us, including the previous owner offering a chance for all to chat about their fondest memories of the firm throughout the years. Members of the Sentry Executive Team joined, along with Chairman Jon Gatfield.
Staff were treated to an array of street food vans serving food and drinks including stonebaked pizza, Greek cuisine, and a chocolate fountain. There was music and DJ, and staff were gifted with freebies to commemorate the occasion. We also held a competition on the day, inviting staff to share their stories.
Looking to the future
Established in 1923, the company came from humble beginnings, and continues to maintain the same family-run heritage and traditional manufacturing techniques 100 years on. Production of the Knowles Product Range still takes place at its 60,000sq ft facility in Birmingham, where the focus is on manufacturing specialist timber internal doorsets with fire rated, acoustic and PAS 24 security certification.
The 100-strong team in Birmingham offers bespoke, sector-specific solutions that meet the exacting requirements of its customers. Since being acquired by Sentry Doors in August 2022, Sentry continues to build on its 100-year heritage, honouring its family-roots and manufacturing excellence.
