100 Trees for 100 Years

18th December 2023, Doncaster, UK: As proud supporters of Trees for Cities, Sentry Doors plant 100 trees to mark 100 years of manufacturing.

Sentry Doors is proud to be supporting Trees for Cities, who as part of their urban trees initiative, plant thousands of trees each year in the UK bringing real benefits to our city’s health and wellbeing.

In celebration of a rich 100-year manufacturing history of their Knowles product range, Sentry Doors have this year donated 100 trees which will be planted on a range of projects as part of the Trees for Cities urban trees initiative.

Trees for Cities are the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities across the UK and beyond. They work with local communities to cultivate lasting change to their neighbourhoods by revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments, and getting people excited about growing, foraging, and eating healthy food.

We work with Trees for Cities because the work they do helps support local and international communities, allowing them to thrive. The effects of climate change are already being felt, which is causing a great threat to some tree species. As well as this, 80% of the population live in towns or cities, meaning that many people breathe dirty air, are at risk of flooding and are struggling with rising temperatures. Without urban trees, people’s health is being affected and our connection to nature becomes lost. By planting thousands of trees each year in the UK and around the world, Trees for Cities is building resilience within urban communities against threats facing the natural environment.

We are proud to be supporting Trees for Cities and their work to help improve the air we breathe, whilst they strive to create greener, happier, and healthier places for people to live. We are looking forward to finding out next year how our donation helped support our community.
