Leaf and a Half Hospital Doors

Hospital doors, otherwise known as leaf and a half, are doors with a very particular structure. The larger leaf (main leaf) is used to control the traffic flow of us, whereas the smaller leaf (slave leaf) is located on the passive side of the opening and is often kept closed. When larger objects, such as hospital beds, require access, both doors can be opened.

Hospital doors are typically used in buildings where a wide opening is required, but the use of a traditional double door is unfavourable due to space constraints or other considerations – making them the ideal choice for hospitals.

Design and Style Options

All of our bespoke doors can be manufactured in a range of woods, with a variety of different configurations, glazes and ironmongery to finish to suit your requirements. We pride ourselves on not only delivering great construction but also the craftsmanship that is guaranteed to enhance your interior space.

In addition to their functionality, our hospital doors can be customised and created to ensure that they are designed to match or contrast any interior space to your exact specifications.

Why Choose Hospital Doors?

Hospital doors are a perfect solution for any interior space, particularly commercial and public buildings, such as offices, schools, and hospitals in addition to residential settings that require greater flexibility in terms of access and security.

Hospital doors offer a practical and flexible solution for a wide range of applications, providing wider openings, flexibility, accessibility, increased ventilation and aesthetic appeal with our range of customisable options.

Hospital Doors Fire Safety

All of our solid hospital doors are available in 30 to 120 minutes fire rated for optimum safety for any commercial or residential building. Each fire-rated hospital door is made from specialised materials that have been rigorously tested in order to provide maximum fire safety. Fire specifications can be easily recognised from their IFC tamper-evident label and BM TRADA fire door plug system.

Please note that hollow hospital doors are not fire-rated, but are available in a range of styles and finishes that can be easily adapted to suit any interior.
