FD60 Door Safety

FD60 timber fire doors are a reliable and essential safety feature for any building, helping to protect both occupants and property in the event of a fire.

Our 60-minute fire doors provide an essential layer of protection critical to many buildings, and that is a legal mandate in most commercial and public environments. Fire-rated doors are specially equipped with a range of features such as intumescent seals that help to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.

Customisable FD60 Internal Fire Doors

Our FD60 fire-rated doors are available in a range of finishes from laminates, colour and grain options to ensure that, in addition to its safety features, your fire door set can match your exact visual specifications.

In addition to the fire safety rating, our FD60 fire doors are crafted using top-quality materials in order to guarantee safety and style. Each FD60 fire door core is lipped with a range of hardwood lippings that can be used to enhance your door finish.

FD60 Fire Door FAQs

What Are the Rules for FD60 Door Frames?

FD60 door frames must meet minimum density standards. For hardwood, this is 640kg/m3, while MDF requires a minimum density of 700kg/m3. The frames must measure 70x32mm at a minimum. They must also feature a 12mm rebate or planted stop. The frames must have no gaps, and double doors may be scalloped or square.

Do I Need an FD30 or FD60?

Whether you need an FD30 or FD60 fire door will depend on your needs. As a general rule of thumb, FD30s tend to be installed in buildings where quick evacuations are possible, such as in smaller office blocks or residential buildings, while FD60s are required by larger buildings such as tall blocks of flats or office blocks.
