FD120 Fire Doors: FAQs

What Does FD120 Mean?

FD120 refers to the fact that these doors can resist the effects of smoke and fire for up to 120 minutes, or two hours. Other examples of this naming convention include the FD30 and FD60 doors, which can resist the effects of fire and smoke for 30 and 60 minutes, respectively.

How Thick Is a 120 Minute Fire Door?

FD120 fire doors have a core that is 62mm thick. This, along with the other safety features of the door, allows it to resist the effects of fire and smoke for such an exceptionally long time.
