Sentry Doors supplies certified fire doors in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, backed by a regional manufacturing presence at our Witton site. For contractors, specifiers and procurement teams working on regulated buildings, that means sourcing doorsets directly from a manufacturer with dual fire and security certification, not just a local fitting service passing on someone else’s product.
Our Birmingham site supports care home, education, healthcare, commercial, leisure and specialist projects across the region, while our Doncaster facility focuses on social housing. Between the two, we cover the full range of sectors that make up the West Midlands construction and public sector pipeline.
In care homes, doors need to withstand daily wear without losing certified performance
Educational settings like schools and universities need reliable, safe fire doors.
We cover all types of healthcare buildings, from health centres to larger clinical facilities.
We provide fire doors for commercial premises like offices and retail units.
We supply our internal fire doors either as complete doorsets or as individual door leaves, to suit customer preference. Each one includes the fire-rated door, frame, intumescent seals, hinges and compatible ironmongery as a factory-assembled unit, built to your project’s specification rather than adapted from a standard size.
FD30 and FD60 ratings cover the majority of West Midlands projects we work on, giving 30 or 60 minutes of fire resistance respectively. FD90 and FD120 options are available for higher-risk areas in industrial or specialist commercial settings. Every rating is a measure of time, not a guarantee of complete protection, and our documentation reflects that distinction clearly for your compliance records.
Bespoke sizing is standard practice for us, not a premium option. Where a Birmingham project involves non-standard openings, listed building constraints, or a retrofit into an occupied building, our team works from your survey data to produce a doorset that fits without compromising the certified specifications.
“We have been using Sentry Doors for our fire doors for a while now and want to say how impressed we are with the consistent quality of the product and how professional Sentry Doors staff are all the way through the process.” – Richard Fleet, Senior Fire Department Manager, CLC Group Limited
The Building Safety Act requires a clear, maintained record of building safety information from design through to occupation, often referred to as the Golden Thread. For fire doors, that means traceable documentation showing what was specified, what was manufactured, and what was actually installed.
We support this by supplying full certification paperwork with every order, and by labelling each doorset with a tamper-evident plug or plate showing its certified rating and manufacturer identification. If a Birmingham project is later subject to a fire risk assessment or building control inspection, that documentation is already in place rather than something to be reconstructed after the fact.
Our doorsets are bespoke manufactured, so our sales and estimating team provides itemised quotations built around your specification rather than a generic price list. Typical lead times run 6 to 8 weeks from order, which we factor into project planning discussions early so it doesn’t become a surprise closer to handover.
